Whistler Summer Camp with the Boys

Subject: Whistler Summer Camp with the Boys
Filmers: Abe Kislevitz, Caleb Farro, Chris Farro, Matt Cook
Location: Whistler BC, Canada

I’ve been going to Whistler in the summer since 2008. After your first time you’ll know why you come back every year after that. Chris, Caleb, and I decided that a week here in July would be our annual boys trip. As of 2016 the 3 of us have gone 4 summers in a row. This video is a recount of an average day in Whistler, filmed back in 2014. While we were there, we created educational content for the GoPro tutorials channel. Check out the series here. As you’ll see in the video we definitely embrace the motto “work hard, play hard”.

Camp of Champions is a camp located on the Blackcomb Glacier with a huge private terrain park. If you want to meet new people, hang with pro skiers/snowboarders, and ski the best summer terrain, this is the place to go. Check out the links below to register, there’s still space for this year! We’ve met campers 3 years ago that we still hang out with each year! There’s nothing better than the peaceful morning cruising up the chairlifts followed by tank-top skiing. At COC, you stay right in the heart of the village and can do awesome activities after skiing like bungee jumping, cruising around town, and skating.

Whistler is an epic destination in the summer because it’s got all the activities you could want. Skiing is just our morning portion while the mountain bike park stays open until 8pm. Whistler is known for the best mountain bike trails in the world – if you haven’t experienced it, I strongly recommend it. After mountain biking the town is buzzing with great dinner spots and super fun night life. I’ll give fair warning – you’ll need a vacation after your Whistler vacation. There’s so much going on, you never want to sit down. You’ll be the most tired you’ve ever been, but having the most fun you’ve ever had. We’ve always stayed with our friends at the Aava Hotel since it’s located right in town and is an easy walk to everything. They’ve got a GoPro demo center to use cameras as well as free cruiser bikes to go around town or out to the lakes that surround the area.

This video was shot mostly on the HERO3+ (since it was back in 2014). It was edited using Adobe Premiere Pro, colored in Davinci Resolve. The graphics & titles were done using an Apple iPad Pro & Procreate App paired with After Effects (Tutorial coming soon).
