Subject: Squaw 2013-2014 - Skiing in Tahoe Filmers: Abe Kislevitz Location: Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows, CA
As many of you know, 2013-2014 was one of the worst seasons in California’s history for snow. Despite the non-stellar quality of the snow season, we still made the most of it and had a blast all the way through it. This is a quick recap of our season, shot entirely on GoPro. Riders featured are Abe Kislevitz, Matt Cook, Christine Donaldson, Troy Cook, Caleb Farro, Chris Farro, and Morgan Oliver-Allen.
One of the more unique shots we used quite a bit of was from a pretty simple 3rd party mount called the KillerShot GoSwivel. It screws into a normal GoPro mount and can swivel 360 degrees, or you have the ability to lock it into place. Most of the time I would end up only using one of the arms and locking it in place directly in front of me. The great thing about this mount is it can break down and fit in a backpack. Sometimes I would even fit it in my pocket and tape the single carbon fiber rod to my ski pole for greater portability on powder days. Here’s a couple photos from the mount.
On the technical side, the video was edited in Adobe Premiere Pro CC; color was done in Davinci Resolve!
