GoPro Karma Grip Comparison

I wanted to document and show the real differences between the quality of the stabilization in the GoPro gimbal (Karma Grip) vs. other options out there. I’ve mentioned the Karma Grip is buttery smooth, but here is the video proof to back up the claims. Nothing in this video has been stabilized in post. Also EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) in the HERO5 in the Karma Grip was turned OFF.

All gimbals do an incredible job of stabilizing footage; however, the Karma Grip was designed with much more powerful motors and highly tuned software to make sure it keeps the most stable image possible. Where other gimbals start to get jitters or shakes, the Karma Grip remains extremely smooth. Previously I would have to use software options like Warp Stabilizer in After Effects to smooth out the shakes and jitters, which I don’t have to rely on anymore. This means I spend less time in post, and have more resolution/quality in my videos. Also you’ll see that the Karma Grip can keep up in situations where I am spinning and flipping without losing control or the horizon.

The Karma Grip comes bundled with the GoPro Karma drone system, or can be purchased separately.
